Jake’s Story
International Triathlete Jake Birtwhistle has spent his life training and competing as a runner and triathlete.
Jake’s dedication and hard work is reflected in his numerous achievements and results, but the journey to international sporting success hasn’t been an easy one.
‘I train every day in some way or another, and there have been many sacrifices along the way’, said Jake. ‘I started training for triathlons when I was 17, and to compete at an elite level means spending hours training and focusing on a healthy lifestyle that supports your success.’
In 2019, Jake set himself the goal of becoming the World and Olympic Champion at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Unfortunately, as the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the practicality of achieving this came into question.
Jake wasn’t going to let this setback stop him. ‘I was training overseas with my coach and team, with multiple competitions lined up for the year. As the pandemic worsened and more and more events were cancelled, it became clear that the safest course of action was to move home to Tasmania temporarily.’
Your journey, your goals, your team.
Jake’s journey with Finance Brokers of Tasmania started in 2018 when he was overseas competing, whilst also purchasing his first property in his hometown of Launceston, Tasmania.
Like any goal, purchasing a first home can be daunting and seem out of reach. Our team worked with Jake to provide the tools and support needed for success. We look into every individual’s circumstances before obtaining their loan and audit their loan every 18-36 months, meaning there’s more time for you to focus on your other goals, while we keep your financial success on track.
“Lance and the team at Finance Brokers of Tasmania made the process of buying my home a breeze. With the pressures of training and competing overseas, I entrusted Lance and the Finance Brokers team with managing the whole process from start to finish. They secured me a great deal on my loan and continue to support me whenever needed. I highly recommend Finance Brokers of Tasmania to anyone looking for a loan.”
